But on average this is the typical conversion rate you will see on majority of sites and can class as poor, good or excellent depends on your goals/targets.

  • Unknown Sites:  5% – 10%
  • Established Sites: 10% – 20%

 

2) White Paper Download Conversion Rate Two Field Forms:

  • Average Conversion Rate: 10% – 15%

 

3) Complex White Paper Download Conversion Rate Long Forms:

  • Unknown Sites: 1% – 2%
  • Known Sites: 8% – 10%

 

4) Lead Generation Conversion Rate Starting Point:

  • Simple Form: 1% – 10%
  • Personal Questions: 0.5% – 5%
  • Multiple Pages: 0.5% – 3%

 

5) Expensive Ecommerce Sites Conversion Rate LCD, LED etc…

  • Average Conversion Rate: 0.5% – 1%

 

6) Low Cost Ecommerce Sites Conversion Rate Books etc… Average Sale under $100

  • Average Conversion Rate: 1% – 2%

 

7) Local Service Company Sites Conversion Rate Plumbers, Electricians etc…

  • Average Conversion Rate: 3% – 6% (Call through rate)

 

8) Retail Store Sites Conversion Rate (Local Business Calls)

  • Average Conversion Rate Local Store: 1% – 2%
  • Average Conversion Rate Restaurant: 3% – 5%

 

9) Informational Marketers

  • Average Conversion Rate Low Price: 5%
  • Average Conversion Rate High Price: 0.5%

 

10) Affiliates

  • Often similar to the merchant average 1% conversion rate is a good starting number.
